  • WARRIOR MIST TOPICAL FOR PAIN RELIEF

Fred Liers PhD warrior mist topical pain relieverWarrior Mist™ is the most effective formula for pain relief offered by HPDI. Warrior Mist is an all-natural, fast-acting, topical pain reliever that is effective for many types of pain. I should know. I have used it nearly every day—for years!

Types of pain Warrior Mist is known to stop, reduce, or soothe include: back pain (including sciatica), knee pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, headaches (including migraines), neck pain and tension, stiff and painful (or pulled) muscles, plantar fascitis, arthritis, sports injuries, old injuries, sprains and strains, bruises (including deep bruises), shin splints, tennis elbow, nerve pain, and post surgery pain.

Practicing aikido for years, I have a frequent need for the rapid effects of Warrior Mist. Having used it for regularly for a long time, I appreciate how quickly it relieves pain like joint pain or sprains. It also works spectacularly for bruises, cuts, abrasions, burns, bug bites, and many other applications.

TESTIMONIAL: "This really works. I had tried several other products, including prescription medications, and little success. There was a noticeable difference after my first use of the product." – Amazon customer

Warrior Mist comes in a convenient one-ounce spray bottle. I shake the bottle and then add a few pumps—or as many as I need—to my non-pumping hand and rub onto the affected area. You can also spray it directly onto skin before rubbing it in with a clean hand. If you need more, you can always unscrew the cap and pour directly into your hand or onto skin, but I usually only reserve this action for times when I'm at the end of the bottle and I want to use all the Warrior Mist remaining in the bottle.

The small bottle travels well, and I usually take it with me whenever I travel. I also keep a bottle ready in a small hiking kit that I carry with me on the trail. While I may not always need it, nevertheless it is there. I cannot count how often I used it when I've least expected to need it. Sprained ankles or swollen fingers heal a lot faster than you might expect, compared to not having Warrior Mist around. It even works well on things like mosquito bites—and helps repel them.

Warrior Mist can be combined effectively with other natural topical products, especially Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil (see video). I often mix a little Warrior Mist with Magnesium Oil in my palm. This mix gives me all the benefits of Warrior Mist with the added boost of extra magnesium chloride that speeds healing.

    WARRIOR MIST BENEFITS

Warrior Mist offers rapid pain relief and many other benefits:

    • RAPID, EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF – Formulated as a fast-acting pain reliever using only natural ingredients

    • LONG LASTING – pain relief last eight hours (or more) per use. This is a natural formula, so you will eventually need to re-apply it. But fewer applications means more time living life pain free.

    • SAFE – 100% natural formula. This means that unlike prescription drugs or many over-the-counter medicines, there are no harsh or dangerous side effects.

    • RAPID HEALING. Not only effectively relieves pain, but also supports rapid healing at the cellular level. It thereby supports healing at the sources of pain. i.e., helps with the underlying causes of pain.

    • REDUCES MUSCLE SORENESS AND TENSION. Another benefit of direct topical application of natural, yet powerful (mostly herbal) ingredients. While this has obvious benefits for athletes, it also helps weekend warriors, or anyone who has muscle soreness due to any reason!

    • INCREASES CIRCULATION. Increased circulation is a significant healthy benefit in itself, allowing better oxygenation of tissues, supporting healing, reducing stagnation of blood, and boosting processes of detoxification.

    • LESSENS INFLAMMATION. Inflamatory processes can be harmful to the body. Warrior Mist helps reduce inflammation naturally, and thereby lessens free-radical damage from it, for example. This significantly supports your healing process.

    • TISSUE REPAIR. When the ingredients in Warrior Mist penetrate tissues, then those tissues can begin the process of healing and repair, and do it faster!

    • HEALS SKIN IRRITATIONS. A major added benefit is the healing of "minor" skin irritations, cuts, abrasions, etc. This is because the ingredients in Warrior Mist™ do double duty as superb nutrients for the skin.

    • SCAR REDUCTION. Warrior Mist™ can soften scar tissues and stimulate the kind of deep healing that results in smaller scars and improved appearance of scars.

TESTIMONIAL: "Warrior Mist is the only product that I have found which truly relieves the osteoarthritis pain in my knee!! I am amazed by the speed and effectiveness of Warrior Mist. As an older person who has planned and worked to be able to complete my life in my own home, Warrior Mist contributes enormously to my ability to do that! Thank you for this excellent product!" – Amazon customer

    WHY IS WARRIOR MIST EFFECTIVE?

Warrior Mist™ is a revolutionary skin, muscle, and joint support formula that uses DMSO, olive oil, coconut oil, and water as base (or carrier) ingredients that transdermally transport the other ingredients directly to the site of the problem where they work together harmoniously and effectively.

Functional ingredients carried to the site of pain include: peppermint oil (the primary source of menthol in the product), magnesium chloride, MSM, lemon oil, and lavender oil. Each of the functional ingredients (and their amounts) were carefully selected for their ability to stop pain, to help the body overcome the causes of pain, to promote healing at the local level, or to work synergistically with the other ingredients. Warrior Mist is 100% all-natural and totally safe!

As a topical analgesic, Warrior Mist conforms to the proposed rules set forth in FDA Monograph 348. The label used on the current Warrior Mist (1 oz spray bottle) meets the requirements set forth in this monograph. Even though there are a number of ingredients in Warrior Mist that can potentially provide temporary pain relief, the FDA monograph only recognizes the ingredient menthol, the major ingredient in peppermint oil, as an allowable active ingredient. According to the monograph, we can only mention menthol as the active ingredient and all other ingredients must be labelled as inactive ingredients.

The truth is that all the ingredients (functional and base/carrier ingredients) add up to a synergistic formula that rapidly relieves pain in a single, easy-to-apply topical product. What more could you ask for?

WHAT INGREDIENTS DOES WARRIOR MIST CONTAIN?

COMPOSITION / INGREDIENTS: DMSO (99.999% pure), peppermint oil, organic olive oil, distilled water, MSM, magnesium chloride, lemon oil, lavender oil, and organic coconut oil.

    DMSO
Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), a by-product of the wood industry, has been in use as a commercial solvent since 1953. Furthermore, in 125 countries throughout the world doctors prescribe it for a variety of issues, including inflammation. DMSO has been used widely as a carrier in topical analgesic formulas. Laboratory studies have shown that DMSO is able to block peripheral nerve C fibers.

Burns, cuts, and sprains have been treated with DMSO. Relief is reported to be almost immediate, lasting up to 6 hours. DMSO reduces inflammation by several mechanisms. It is an antioxidant, a scavenger of the free radicals that gather at the site of injury. Studies have shown DMSO to be one of the safest ingredients known with a toxicity similar to that of water.

DMSO has long been used to promote healing both in animals and humans. Those who have used it for minor cuts and burns report that recovery is speedy. Several studies have documented DMSO use with soft tissue damage, local tissue death, skin ulcers, and burns. Applied topically and repeatedly, DMSO flattens the raised, nodular, lobed liner mass of scar tissue in keloids and acne.

    MSM
MSM is a naturally occurring nutrient found in normal human diets. In the body DMSO and MSM, which form each other, are indistinguishable in their biochemical effects. They reach a equilibrium distribution between them that is dependent on the local body chemistry, and is independent of which one you start with. The metabolic enhancement mechanism of MSM and DMSO is that of an exceptionally effective oxygen transport system. This system is made particularly effective by the feature that both DMSO and MSM are highly soluble in both oil and water.

MSM makes cell walls permeable, allowing water and nutrients to freely flow into cells and allowing wastes and toxins to properly flow out. The body uses MSM along with Vitamin C to create new healthy cells, and MSM provides the flexible bond between the cells. Without proper levels of MSM, our bodies are unable to build healthy cells, and this leads to problems such as lost flexibility, scar tissue, wrinkles, varicose veins, hardened arteries, damaged lung tissues, dry cracking skin, digestive disorders, joint problems, and inability to defend against allergic reactions to food, animals and plants.

The applications of MSM include pain control (analgesic), inflammation control, dilation of blood vessels, increased blood flow, reduced muscle spasm, altering the crosslinking process in collagen (e.g., reducing scar tissue,) anti-parasitic effects (particularly against Giardia), and immune normalizing effects. MSM has a unique ability to pass through cellular membranes (including skin).

    Peppermint Oil
The primary constituent of peppermint oil is menthol, which causes a physical reaction when inhaled or applied to the skin. Menthol produces an immediate and pronounced sensation of coolness that effects the body quite noticeably, and creates a "warming effect" as blood flows into the area of application.

Peppermint oil can be used externally for providing relief from pain. Peppermint oil increases your immunity. It also improves blood circulation. Additional of the uses of peppermint oil include:acne, asthma, colds, cramps, dermatitis, exhaustion, influenza, headache, insect bites, mental fatigue, migraine, nausea, nerve pain, neuralgia, poor circulation, and respiratory disorders.

    Lavender Oil
Lavender oil helps in treating migraines, headaches, anxiety, depression, nervous tension and emotional stress. The refreshing aroma removes nervous exhaustion and restlessness and increases mental activity. Because it induces sleep, it is often recommended for insomnia. Lavender oil is also an excellent remedy for various types of pains including those caused by sore muscles, tense muscles, muscular aches, rheumatism, sprains, backache, and lumbago. A regular massage with lavender oil can provide relief from pain in the joints.

Lavender oil is also good for improving blood circulation in the body. The health benefits of lavender oil for the skin can be attributed to its antiseptic and antifungal properties. It is used to treat various skin conditions, including acne, wrinkles, psoriasis, and other inflammatory conditions. It heals wounds, cuts, burns, and sunburns rapidly because it aids in the formation of scar tissues. It is also effective against insect bites. The oil also repels mosquitoes and moths.

    Lemon Oil
Lemon oil is powerfully astringent and antiseptic. Lemon oil is detoxifying and is therefore good for blemishes associated with oily skin. Lemon oil is a powerful antioxidant and is a tonic for supporting the nervous and sympathetic nervous system. It's been long known that lemon oil is anti-infective, antibacterial (especially with spores), and antiviral. It can function as a disinfectant and exerts vitamin P-like action for improving microcirculation, promotes white blood cell formation, and improves immune function. It has also been widely used in skin care to cleanse skin and reduce wrinkles.

    Magnesium Chloride
Magnesium chloride applied to the skin is an effective means for increasing magnesium levels in the body, and is particularly useful for relieving sore muscles and joints, and reducing pain related to functional magnesium deficiency. It is also proven for use in helping to calm “nerves” and reduce systemic bodily stress. Because the magnesium targets muscle tissues, it is thereby especially useful for replenishing depleted soft tissues and helping restore proper function.

Magnesium is necessary for the production of energy in the body. When the body receives adequate amounts of magnesium, it can produce the levels of energy required to sustain the body and enable it to thrive. Magnesium chloride is proven for use in a variety of general applications, including bruises, cramps, muscle tension, and migraine headaches.

    Olive Oil
Used as a base and mixed with other essential oils, olive oil makes a wonderful oil for skin health. In fact, it has been touted as one of the oldest healing and beauty techniques. A biblical reference from about 493 BCE documents the daily massage with olive oil and other oils as a part of the beauty regimen.

    Coconut Oil
Coconut oil is a superb skin lotion because it both nourishes skin and is naturally anti-bacterial, antiviral, and antifungal due to its high content of medium chain triglycerides

DIRECTIONS: Shake bottle before applying. Wash hands before and after use. Apply in a thin layer to a clean, dry, and lotion-free area needing support. Shave thick hair that may prevent absorption by the skin. Gently massage the area of application to assist absorption. Reapply as needed 3–4 times daily. Contains DMSO, a known solvent. Use on people or pets at your own discretion.

USES: Warrior Mist™ is an all-natural skin, muscle, and joint support formula.

WARNINGS: For external use only. May cause temporary (up to 45 minutes) skin irritation, heating, or flushing upon use. Discontinue use if temporary skin conditions persist. Do not use on wounds or severely damaged skin. Do not bandage tightly. Avoid contact with eyes. Flush eyes with cool water if exposed. Do not use if allergic to any ingredients. Stop use and visit a health care professional if reason for use continues for more than one week. If swallowed get medical help or call a Poison Control Center. Consult a health care professional before use if pregnant.

  • OMEGA-3 ESSENTIAL FATS REMAIN "ESSENTIAL" – A REBUTTAL FROM OMNS

Fred Liers PhD omega-3 essential fats plus e EFA formulaOmega-3 essential fatty acids (EFA) are critically important for health. That is the reason we at HPDI include them in our foundational supplements system in the form of our Essential Fats Plus E formula. Essential Fats Plus E provides a balanced ratio of 4:1 omega-3 EPA to omega-6 GLA fatty acids proven to optimally support health.

As important as Omega-3 fats are in good health, various studies conclude they are of little value. In order to help clarity the fallacies found in such studies, this month we re-print the recent article "Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease" from the Orthomolecular News Service (OMNS).

    BACKGROUND

Essential fats including Omega-3 and Omega-6 are so important to health that we consider them as foundational or "core" to basic nutrition as multivitamins, antioxidants/vitamin C formulas, and high-RNA superfoods, like Rejuvenate! Plus.

Many of today's health problems relate to deficiencies in Omega-3 essential fatty acids rather than overabundance of it. It makes sense for everyone to supplement their diets with at least a minimum amount of essential fats. This is addition to consuming foods high in Omega-3 (and Omega-6) essential fats, including leafy greens, nuts, seeds, and seed oils. Also, small amounts of wild-caught fish from clean waters. Preferably these fish would come from low on the food chain, such as sardines, herring, or young mackerel, for example.

In December 2107, my father Hank Liers, PhD, wrote "The Truth about Essential Fatty Acids." In his article, he delves into detail about why essential fatty acids are critical for health.

The diagram below from Dr. Hank's article shows in detail the pathways for the production and use of fatty acids in the body. In the figure the metabolic pathways (running left to right) for four fatty acids types are shown (top - Omega-3, second - Omega-6, third - Omega-9, bottom - Omega-7). Notice that only the omega-3 and omega-6 oils are considered to be essential fatty acids because they cannot be made in the body. This means they must come from food.

    omega-3 fats omega-6 fats

Furthermore, an additional diagram from Dr. Hank's article shown below provides details of the omega-6 and omega-3 pathways. Pathway specifics indicate key eicosanoids (series 1 prostaglandins [anti-inflammatory], series 2 prostaglandins [pro-inflammatory], and series 3 prostaglandins [anti-inflammatory]), oil sources, and important nutrient cofactors that are needed for the reactions to take place.

    omega-3 fats omega-6 fats

In particular, Dr. Hank discusses how superior benefits to health result from a balanced 4:1 ratio between Omega-3 eicosapentanoic acid (EPA) fatty acids and Omega-6 gamma linoleic acid (GLA).

Below we list some of the functions and benefits obtained when by diet or supplementation the correct ratios and amounts of essential fatty acids are consumed.

    • Regulate steroid production and hormone synthesis
    • Regulate pressure in the eyes, joints, and blood vessels
    • Regulate response to pain, inflammation, and swelling
    • Mediate Immune Response
    • Regulate bodily secretions and their viscosity
    • Dilate or constrict blood vessels
    • Regulate smooth muscle and autonomic reflexes
    • Are primary constituents of cellular membranes
    • Regulate the rate at which cells divide
    • Necessary for the transport of oxygen from the red blood cells to tissues
    • Necessary for proper kidney function and fluid balance
    • Prevent red blood cells from clumping together
    • Regulate nerve transmission

Dr. Hank also discusses the fallacy of thinking that supplemental Omega-3 fats alone are sufficient to produce health. That is, despite the relative lack of Omega-3 essential fats and the prevalence of Omega-6 fats in modern diets, it is nevertheless the forms (EPA and GLA)—and the critical 4:1 ratio between them—that makes the difference in how they act synergistically for health. The result of Hank's scientific understanding of essential fatty acids has resulted in his formulation of a balanced EFA product, Essential Fats Plus E.

Orthomolecular Medicine News Service Article "Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease"

Regarding the Orthomolecular Medicine News Service article "Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease" (republished below) rebutting the "Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews" which relies on so-called "Evidence Based Medicine" (EBM) to distort truth on Omega-3 essential fatty acids, the fact that Omega-3 fats are under such false attack represents a huge disservice to the public.

While essential fatty acids may not generate profits for corporations—and in fact may lead to improved health outcomes that threaten the use of chemicals and drugs—essential fats nevertheless remain foundational for health.

Above we have shown the important reasons Omega-3 fats and other essential fatty acids are scientifically termed "essential." And why people continue taking essential fats, and giving them to their families and children, for supporting health and well-being. Primary among these reasons is that you cannot be healthy without them. Hence, they are essential. Why believe anyone who says otherwise?

The bottom line: Omega-3 essential fatty acids are critical for health. Supplementing the diet with them is a good idea for nearly everyone. This is especially true because typical diets are proven to be most deficient in Omega-3 among essential fats.

Below we re-print in full the recent article "Omega 3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease" from the Orthomolecular News Service (OMNS) for the benefit of our HPDI blog readers. ~

Omega-3 Fatty Acids and Cardiovascular Disease

Commentary by Damien Downing, MBBS, MSB and Robert G. Smith, PhD

The Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews has just updated its own review: Omega-3 fatty acids for the primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease [1]. Here's our take on it.

Michael Pollan, the brilliant food writer, reckoned you could sum up what to do about nutrition and diets in 7 words; "Eat food, not too much, mostly plants." That sums up both what's best for humans and what's best for the planet.

We reckon you can sum up what's wrong with evidence-based medicine (EBM) in 10 words; "Evidence is a waste of data; systematic reviews are palimpsests." You can use that as a knife to quickly dissect this study.

There are many things wrong with this review. Somebody's PR department has spun the review's "no clear evidence of benefit" into "evidence of no benefit" - absence of evidence becoming evidence of absence. And clearly the media were entirely happy to take that one and run with it.

    Systematic reviews are palimpsests

What's a palimpsest? Back when things got written on vellum, an animal skin, not on paper, you didn't throw it away; you recycled it and wrote over the original. It was called a palimpsest.

A systematic review gives an opportunity to write over the conclusions of a whole list of papers with your new version of the truth. You do that by the way that you select and exclude them.

For instance there was a meta-analysis (that's a systematic review with more numbers) in 2005 that concluded that vitamin E supplements significantly increased the risk of death [2]. The way they did that was to rule out any study with less than 10 deaths - when fewer deaths was exactly the outcome they were supposed to be looking for.

The reason they gave for doing that was "because we anticipated that many small trials did not collect mortality data." We're not buying it; they used it as a trick to enable them to get the negative result they wanted - to over-write the findings of a long list of original studies.

And here we have authors doing the very same thing in this omega-3 study - and upping the ante slightly. Now the threshold is 50 deaths. Fewer than that and your study is ruled out of the final, supposedly least biased, analysis . . on the grounds that it's more biased.

We don't know how they could keep a straight face while saying (our interpretation); "The studies with fewer deaths showed more benefit from omega-3s, so we excluded them." At least that's what happened back in 2004 when the first version of this came out.[3]

But this is the 8th update (we think) and they no longer bother to tell you about what they included or excluded in detail, so we can only assume that if they had changed that exclusion they would have told us.

The weird thing is that they are allowed to do it. Nutrition researcher Dr. Steve Hickey has shown that in systematic reviews there is generally control for bias in the included studies, but none for bias in the actual review and its authors.[4,5]

They found not one example of adequate blinding among 100 Cochrane reviews (like this one); they could all be palimpsests. Do we know that they are fake? No, but it doesn't matter: what we do know is that we can't trust them. Nor can we trust this Cochrane review. Things haven't changed since 2004.

Evidence is a waste of data

Evidence is what lawyers and courts use to find someone Guilty or Not Guilty, and we all know how that can go wrong. It's a binary system: you're either one or the other. But at least if you're on trial all the evidence should be about you and whether you did the crime.

In EBM the evidence is all about populations, not about individuals. When a doctor tells you "There's a 1 in 3 chance this treatment will work" he is required to base that on big studies, or even systematic reviews. You don't, and you can't, know what that means for you because very likely you don't fit the population profile.

As Steve Hickey (again) said, the statistical fallacy underlying all this states that you have one testicle and one ovary - because that's the population average! The authors of this study update started off with about 2100 papers that looked relevant. They then excluded 90 per cent of them for various reasons - some of them good reasons, some not.

A smarter way to work would be to data-mine them and look for useful information about sub-groups and sub-effects in all the papers. Is there a particular reason omega-3s might work for you and not for others? Perhaps you can't stand fish, or are allergic to them, and so are deficient in omega-3s.

But the review system doesn't allow it, it insists on overall conclusions (about populations), and that's a colossal waste of data. It also confounds the overall finding of the review - it biases it in fact.

Here's an example: while most subgroups that made it to the final analysis showed a small reduction in risk from taking omega-3s in one form or another (pills, food, whatever), those who got it from supplemented foods, which we understand means stuff like margarine with added omega-3, showed a 4.3-fold death risk increase!

The problem here is that the effects of omega-3 fatty acids cannot be studied alone as if they were a drug. What counts are all the other components of the diet that affect a person's health.

Processed foods and drinks that contain many unhealthy ingredients can't be made healthy by adding small doses of vitamins, minerals, and omega-3 fatty acids. In fact, many processed foods that contain small doses of vitamins and other essential nutrients are unhealthy because they contain large doses of sugar, salt, and harmful ingredients such as preservatives, dyes, and other non-food items.

    Why lipids are so important

Part of the problem is that lipids are truly complicated, and not many people, patients, doctors or even scientists, understand them well. You need a good understanding of lipid metabolism to appreciate the difference in metabolism and impact between alpha-linolenic acid (ALA, in food such as oily fish) and extracted oils such as EPA and DHA that are only found at high levels in omega-3 supplements.

At these levels they are effectively new to nature; nobody, indeed no mammal, was exposed to really high doses of DHA until we invented fish oil supplements [6]. Miss that fact and you miss the difference between having people eat fresh oily fish or just using omega-3 margarine!

We know from a variety of studies that a diet containing generous portions of green leafy and colorful vegetables and fruits, moderate portions of eggs, fish, and meat, and supplements of adequate doses of essential nutrients (vitamins and minerals) is effective at lowering the risk for cardiovascular disease.

Adequate doses of both omega-3 (in flax oil, walnuts, fish) and omega-6 (in seed oils such as canola, soybean, peanut) fatty acids are essential for health. Although essential, omega-6 fatty acids are thought to contribute to inflammation throughout the body whereas omega-3 fatty acids are anti-inflammatory.

Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for most body organs including the brain but are found in lower levels than omega-6 fatty acids in most vegetables. Risk for cardiovascular disease can be lowered by adequate doses of vitamins C (3,000-10,000mg/d), D (2,000-10,000 IU/d), E (400-1,200 IU/d), and magnesium (300-600 mg/d) in addition to an excellent diet that includes an adequate dose of omega-3 fatty acids.[7]

  • BONE FRACTURES SUPPORT

Dr. Hank Liers, PhD bone fracturesSeveral years ago a customer asked me for a program that could be helpful to those suffering with bone fractures. A relative had been diagnosed with multiple bone fractures in his ankle.

Since I have been counseling individuals regarding natural treatments for supporting those with bone fractures and injury for many years, and was able to provide a comprehensive program that could be helpful in recovery. More recently, we have introduced products and tools that can be even more supportive. Therefore, in this article we are providing an update to the bone fractures program.

Clearly, the need for such a program is great. According to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), about six million individuals suffer fractures each year in North America. In about 5–10 percent of cases, patients suffer either delayed healing or fractures that do not heal.

The problem of bone fractures is especially troubling for the elderly, many of whom suffer from osteoporosis, a condition in which bones become weak and break more easily. For an older person, a fracture affects quality of life because it significantly reduces function and mobility, and requires an extended period of recuperation.

The bone fracture program set forth below also works well to support the healing of other types of bone problems, including broken bones, bone surgery, osteoporosis, and wisdom tooth removal.

    THE BONE FRACTURE PROGRAM

    IMPORTANCE OF FOUNDATIONAL SUPPLEMENTS

The first element of the program consists of Foundational Supplements. This group of supplements ensures the body is being supplied with all of the basic elements needed for optimal function. The primary foundational supplements consists of 1) a therapeutic multivitamin and mineral formula, 2) a complete buffered Vitamin C with antioxidants formula, 3) an essential fatty acids supplement, and 4) a high-RNA superfoods formula.

Our Foundational Supplements are described in great detail on the HPDI website where we provide a free downloadable e-book "The Need for Foundational Supplements" (.pdf). Suffice it to say that the foundational supplements are a essential part of the program that ensure healing will take place quickly and effectively. I encourage everyone to become familiar with this information as foundational supplements are basic to any wellness or healing program.

    bone fractures

ENHANCEMENT FORMULAS ARE CRITICAL FOR HEALING BONE FRACTURES

The second element of the program for healing bone fractures consists of Enhancement Formulas that strengthen the body as it relates to dealing with the damaging effects of bone fractures. These include a Vitamin D3 formula with the synergistic nutrients of Vitamin A and Vitamin K2 that are required for the rebuilding of bone as well as strengthening the body in many other ways. The HPDI Vitamin D3 Plus formula to designed to specifically address this need.

A second Enhancement Formula in this program is our comprehensive Bone Guardian formula that is based upon micronized veal bone that provides hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2). Hydroxyapatite is the basic component of human bone that is 50% by volume and 70% by weight. Whereas the Vitamin D3 Plus formula builds the bone matrix, the Bone Guardian fills in the matrix with materials such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, boron, zinc, manganese, copper, silica, and strontium. HPDI sells Bone Guardian in both the tablet and capsule forms. The capsule form may be better for older people who are able to absorb capsules better than tablets.

A third Enhancement Formula to the program is additional amounts of Vitamin C. Vitamin C is known to participate in every step of the process of building collagen, which is a key component of bone. Vitamin C has been shown to increase bone mass density. We recommend slowly increasing your intake of buffered Vitamin C until you reach your bowel tolerance. This can be accomplished by increasing your intake of HPDI's foundational supplement PRO-C™ formula. The PRO-C has the added value of containing oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from grape seed, skin, & pulp. OPCs in the body are able to strongly crosslink and strengthen new and damaged collagen fibers needed needed to repair bones, ligaments, tendons, and cartilage.

SPECIFIC CONDITION FORMULAS TARGET BONE FRACTURES

The third element in the program are Specific Condition Formulas that directly address issues related to bone fractures. The first of these is the addition of a joint formula that allows the body to build and repair connective tissue and to significantly reduce inflammation in the area of bone fractures. In most cases of fractures there will be damaged ligaments and tendons as well as inflammation in the area.

HPDI's Joint Health Formula includes the ingredients glucosamine hydrochloride, MSM, and sea cucumber (a significant source of chondroiten sulfate) in addition to anti-inflammatory substances such as turmeric extract, rutin, and grape extract (seed, pulp, and skin) that have been extremely helpful in both repairing connective tissue and reducing pain and inflammation.

A second strongly recommended condition-specific formula is proteolytic enzymes. Because it is highly likely in the case of bone fractures and injury that there is significant tissue damage, a formula with pancreatic and plant enzymes as well as anti-inflammatories can be extremely helpful is clearing out the damaged tissue. This gives the body the opportunity to begin the rebuilding process much sooner.

Our recommended PROLYT formula contains the proteolytic enzymes bromelain, trypsin (pancreatic enzyme), and chymotrypsin (pancreatic enzyme), and the polyphenols/bioflavonoids turmeric extract (95% curcuminoids), quercetin and oligomeric proanthocyanidins (OPCs) from grape extract. This formula when taken on an empty stomach between meals is quickly absorbed into the bloodstream and goes to work cleaning up any damaged tissues in the area surrounding a fracture and assists in reducing pain and inflammation.

TOPICAL MAGNESIUM CHLORIDE FOR PAIN AND RAPID HEALING

A final Specific Condition Formula that I highly recommend for healing bone fractures is to rub Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil on and surrounding the fracture area. Bones cannot heal without having adequate amounts of magnesium available. Unfortunately, many people are deficient in magnesium and even taking oral magnesium cannot easily provide sufficient amounts to an area with a bone fracture. Magnesium oil (mostly magnesium chloride) is quickly absorbed transdermally (via skin) and often can provide rapid healing and pain relief!

BODY pH COULD BE A FACTOR IN HEALING BONE FRACTURES

The processed food diets with a high protein and low vegetable content consumed by many people in the U.S. and elsewhere often produce conditions in the body of acidity. This in turn leads to decreased oxygenation of cells and encourages a greater amount of anaerobic processes in metabolism. In addition, when the body is acidic calcium can be taken from bones in order to balance the acidity. This can lead to poor healing of bone fractures.

In order to counter acidic conditions in the body we recommend the use of HPDI's pH ADJUST formula. As a dietary supplement, take 1 gm (about a rounded ¼ tsp) in 4-8 ounces of purified water preferably away from food, or as directed by a health care professional.  For extremely acidic conditions, try 4–10 doses per day, depending on acidity level. Use pH paper to ensure pH levels remain balanced, and do not become too alkaline (alkalosis may occur above pH 8.2).

TESTING pH LEVELS: The best way to test pH levels is to use litmus paper, which HPDI offers in rolls (Hydrion brand) for this purpose. You can test salivary or urinary pH. In order to test salivary pH, simply use a small strip of pH paper to dip into a small amount of saliva. Advantages of pH paper include rapid results, ease of use, and cost effectiveness.

    pH Paper bone fractures protocol

The color of the litmus paper indicates the pH level of the body fluid tested. Most litmus paper comes with an indicator chart showing colors corresponding to various pH levels. Alkaline states will generally produce a dark green, blue or purple color (most basic). Acidic states will range from yellow (most acidic) to light green.

Salivary pH and urinary pH are significantly affected by recent food consumption and other factors, so it it best to test pH hours after meals or in the morning when you awake. We prefer to measure urinary pH since results are more consistent. Measuring urinary pH is a simple as placing a few drops of urine on the paper or dipping the paper into a sample cup of fresh urine.

A consistent pH measurement of less than 7.0 indicates that you are too acidic (values less than 6.2 show extreme acidity). This indicates that you should consume more alkaline forming foods (usually vegetables) and/or take pH ADJUST. A single dose of pH ADJUST can change conditions in the body from acidic to alkaline within a few hours.

GENETIC VARIATIONS IN YOUR VITAMIN D RECEPTOR GENE (VDR) MAY BE AN IMPORTANT FACTOR

The VDR gene (contained in every cell of the body) provides instructions for making a protein called vitamin D receptor (VDR), which allows the body to respond appropriately to vitamin D. This vitamin can be acquired from foods in the diet or made in the body by exposure to from sunlight. Vitamin D is involved in maintaining the proper balance of several minerals in the body, including calcium and phosphate, which are essential for the normal formation of bones and teeth. One of vitamin D's major roles is to control the absorption of calcium and phosphate from the intestines into the bloodstream. Vitamin D is also involved in several process unrelated to bone formation.

VDR attaches (binds) to the active form of vitamin D, known as calcitriol. Calcitrol is produced in the body from Vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) in the liver and kidneys. The interaction with calcitriol allows VDR to partner with another protein called retinoid X receptor (RXR). The resulting complex of proteins then binds to particular regions of DNA, known as vitamin D response elements, and regulates the activity of vitamin D-responsive genes. By turning these genes on or off, VDR helps control calcium and phosphate absorption and other processes.

In recent years, genetic tests have become available that show VDR variations can cause serious conditions related to low bone density and other important body functions such a higher blood glucose levels or lower immune system function. If a person is having little success in healing bone fractures, it is possible that VDR variations are a key factor of causation.

In such cases, we recommend having genetic testing done to determine if VDR variations are present. Recently, HPDI has teamed with a genetic testing company (BodySync, Inc.) and sells the BodySync test kits on our Reseller site. Among the genes tested for in the test are three variations of the VDR gene. Resellers can purchase the test kits directly from HPDI and retail customers can call us  (800-228-4265) to find out how we can help them get a test kit and support them with any associated counseling regarding the results.

    ADDITIONAL NUTRIENTS FOR BONE FRACTURES

Additional nutrients that may be helpful include pH ADJUST (to balance excess acidity in the body),  Warrior Mist™ for pain relief (rub on adjacent area several times daily), Echinacea (as drops or capsules), N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine - NAC (2 gms per day), Progesterone Cream - for women (1/4–1/2 tsp twice daily), and Prescript-Assist™ probiotics (2 capsules daily) if on antibiotics.

    PROPER DIET IS ESSENTIAL

Consume a diet that provides good amounts of protein which is needed by the body to support the healing of bone fractures. Eat meats, poultry and fish (e.g., sardines, salmon, mackerel) in the amount of a 5–10 ounces per day. Ensure a good intake of organic vegetables, including high levels of dietary fiber. Drink 16 oz per day of fresh vegetable juices from carrot, celery, beets, cabbage, etc.

Other healthy foods (preferably organic) include fruits, whole grains (e.g., brown rice, millet, and quinoa), beans, nuts and seeds (sunflower, chia, flax, pumpkin, almond, walnut and sesame in small amounts — 2 or 4 ounces — are good). Try eating Hank's Vegetable Soup several times a week. Avoid all sweets (sugar), processed/refined foods (white bread and pasta), preservatives, and artificial flavors and colors. Vary your diet.

HYDROTHERAPY (WATER THERAPY) FOR BONE FRACTURES

An additional treatment that can be useful is hydrotherapy. In particular, hot and cold showers are a very effective way to move the blood and create circulation. This can speed up both detoxification and delivery of healing nutrients to the area of a bone fracture. Here's how to do this. Once daily, take a complete hot and cold shower. You will start with hot water for one minute, then cold for one minute. Repeat this seven (7) times so the shower should last about 15 minutes.

Another time, daily, you can perform a complete hot and cold shower routine again or a partial one just applying the water directly to or near the area where there is a bone fracture. While you are doing both hot and cold showers, pay special attention to any affected area and massage it as vigorously as is safe and comfortable. If a shower is impossible, then alternate hot packs and ice packs on the area of the bone fracture.

    BONE FRACTURES – CONCLUSION

By following the recommendations and suggested supplement schedule, healing time for bone fractures can be significantly reduced and fractures may heal more completely with fewer complications. By ensuring your body receives the proper nutrients it needs to heal itself, and by engaging in other relevant practices (e.g., hydrotherapy), you and/or your loved ones may be able to deal with bone fractures successfully, and continue a healthy, vibrant lifestyle.

White Willow Bark Extract (Salix alba) White Willow Bark Extract (Salix alba)

White Willow Bark Extract (Salix alba):
A native of Europe and Asia, the name of this deciduous tree comes from the lightly colored undersides of its slender leaves. Willow may in fact be one of the oldest remedies, used in ancient Egypt and China as early as 500 BCE.

Healers applying skin and beauty treatments understood that willow bark was an important ingredient in the support of natural health. Careful processing ensures that the willow extract in Relief Rx™ contains the highest purity of ingredients. Benefits of using white willow bark extract include:

    • Anti-aging: A 2010 study reported that salicin can help reduce the appearance of skin aging. Researchers applied a serum product containing 0.5 percent salicin on the faces of women aged 35 to 70, every day for 12 weeks. Results showed improvements in the appearance of wrinkles, pore size, radiance, and overall appearance after only one week.

    • Helps cleanse oily skin: Willow bark extract naturally exfoliates skin and clears pores to give skin a clearer, healthier appearance.
    • Smooths the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: The same exfoliating action that reduces clogged pores also helps smooth the look of fine line and wrinkles. Willow bark is a source of natural hydroxy acids that gently exfoliate. The result is smoother, softer skin.
    • Antioxidants: Like most plant extracts, willow bark contains flavonoids and tannins—powerful antioxidants that help protect skin from environmental stressors.
Relief Rx™ contains important trace minerals Relief Rx™ contains important trace minerals

    Ionic Trace Minerals Blend:
There is a great deal of evidence that the healthy function of the body is strongly influenced by electrical impulses. That is, our bodies use electrical impulse pathways, and electrolytes and ions are the conductors of these currents maintaining a smoothly running body. Ions provide the necessary charge of both positive and negative molecules that keep the electrical component of the human battery "charged" and working in top form.

The human skin is the largest organ of the body and is highly involved in the detoxification and maintenance processes of health. Skin not only excretes and eliminates toxins; it also has a tremendous capacity to absorb health supportive substances.

Clinical researchers have continued to document the clinical findings that have been observed for decades when it comes to the healing properties of topical minerals. Many of the studies on therapeutic baths have used minerals from the Dead Sea as well as the Great Salt Lake. Of particular interest are the powerful effects of these salts that exhibit favorable effects in inflammatory disease.

In one study, 103 arthritic patients received various bath treatments with ionic trace minerals. The study showed impressive results and those with the greatest physical limitation had the most pronounced improvement. A large percentage of the patients reported having less pain, improved mobility and were able to decrease analgesic use. In a different double-blind study, the use of warm mineral baths demonstrated a lasting effect for patients suffering from degenerative arthritis.

In a clinical trial conducted by a leading research university in Germany, patients with atopic (eczema) skin disorders immersed their arms in a mineral rich bath. The participants immersed one arm in tap water the other in the therapeutic mineral rich bath. The findings showed that skin hydration was improved and skin roughness and inflammation was reduced when immersed in the mineral rich water.

SPECIFIC BENEFITS of GINKGO BILOBA EXTRACT

Reduces Conditions of Dementia: Scientific literature suggests that Ginkgo Biloba extract benefits people experiencing cognitive decline, including those with dementia of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Certain studies have found Ginkgo Biloba can help improve cognitive performance and memory in both older and younger adults but might be especially useful for age-related mental decline.

Improves Concentration: Research shows that Ginkgo Biloba extract can help combat poor concentration, reverse cognitive decline and and heal fatigue. It’s even useful for helping to treat cerebral insufficiency — a condition characterized by chronically low concentration, confusion, decreased physical performance, fatigue, headaches and mood changes.

Helps With ADHD: Some studies using therapies that include Ginkgo Biloba have found relief and improved concentration for people with ADHD symptoms. And because it can improve concentration, memory and task performance, it may also reduce symptoms in people with dyslexia. There is also some evidence that ginkgo biloba can help reduce symptoms of autism, making it a potential autism natural treatment.

Helps with Headaches and Migraines: Ginkgo Biloba can be an effective way to naturally reduce frequent headaches and the rate and severity of migraines because it reduces pain, increases blood vessel dilation and combats stress that can trigger problems. Headaches may be triggered by stress, fatigue, poor posture, drugs, low blood sugar, hormones, constipation, allergies, eyestrain, and nutritional deficiencies. The amazing benefits that ginkgo has on stress and fatigue is associated with its ability to lessen headache tension.

Helps With Anxiety and Depression: For those with nervousness, depression or mood swings, Ginkgo Biloba extract can be helpful. Research suggests Ginkgo Biloba benefits the body’s ability to handle stressors and counteracts the effects of high levels of stress hormones, like cortisol and adrenaline.

Ginkgo Biloba is considered to be an adaptogenic herb that naturally raises the body’s ability to cope with stress. It can be especially helpful for people with generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and possibly seasonal depression, panic attacks and social phobias.

Reduces Symptoms of Asthma: Studies have found Ginkgo Biloba extract can reduce asthma-related symptoms. Because it lowers inflammation, improves antioxidant activity and positively effects nerve functioning, people have reported less trouble breathing when taking Ginkgo Biloba.

Alleviates Symptoms of PMS: Early research has shown positive effects of taking Ginkgo Biloba on reducing PMS symptoms, including mood swings, headaches, anxiety, fatigue and muscle pain. It also may have beneficial effects on mood and cognition in postmenopausal women and can help improve similar symptoms.

Helps Maintain Vision and Eye Health: Ginkgo Biloba appears to be beneficial for eye health since it improves blood flow to the eyes and prevents free-radical damage that can affect the cornea, macula and retina. It can be especially beneficial for older adults in preserving vision and lowering UV damage or oxidative stress to eye tissue.

Improves Libido: Ginkgo Biloba has positive effects on hormonal balance — particularly serotonin levels, blood pressure and circulation. This implies that it may help those dealing with erectile dysfunction and low libido. Ginkgo Biloba has the potential to dilate blood vessels and improve blood flow to the genitals, which is important for reproductive health.

Helps Heal Hemorrhoids: Some studies have found that Ginkgo Biloba helps those experiencing painful hemorrhoids, that cause swelling, pain and bleeding related to an increase in pressure on the veins of the anus and rectum. Ginkgo Biloba may lower pain, improve pain tolerance and reduce inflammation, which may stop bleeding associated with hemorrhoids.

Efficacy and adverse effects of ginkgo biloba for cognitive impairment and dementia: a systematic review and meta-analysis.

    In: J Alzheimers Dis. 2015;43(2):589-603. doi: 10.3233/JAD-14083

Research into Ginkgo biloba has been ongoing for many years, while the benefit and adverse effects of Ginkgo biloba extract EGb761 for cognitive impairment and dementia has been discussed controversially.
OBJECTIVE: To discuss new evidence on the clinical and adverse effects of standardized Ginkgo biloba extract EGb761 for cognitive impairment and dementia.
METHODS: MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane, and other relevant databases were searched in March 2014 for eligible randomized controlled trials of Ginkgo biloba EGb761 therapy in patients with cognitive impairment and dementia.
RESULTS: Nine trials met our inclusion criteria. Trials were of 22-26 weeks duration and included 2,561 patients in total. In the meta-analysis, the weighted mean differences in change scores for cognition were in favor of EGb761 compared to placebo (-2.86, 95%CI -3.18; -2.54); the standardized mean differences in change scores for activities in daily living (ADLs) were also in favor of EGb761 compared to placebo (-0.36, 95%CI -0.44; -0.28); Peto OR showed a statistically significant difference from placebo for Clinicians' Global Impression of Change (CGIC) scale (1.88, 95%CI 1.54; 2.29). All these benefits are mainly associated with EGb761 at a dose of 240 mg/day. For subgroup analysis in patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms, 240 mg/day EGb761 improved cognitive function, ADLs, CGIC, and also neuropsychiatric symptoms with statistical superiority than for the whole group. For the Alzheimer's disease subgroup, the main outcomes were almost the same as the whole group of patients with no statistical superiority. Finally, safety data revealed no important safety concerns with EGb761.
CONCLUSIONS: EGb761 at 240 mg/day is able to stabilize or slow decline in cognition, function, behavior, and global change at 22-26 weeks in cognitive impairment and dementia, especially for patients with neuropsychiatric symptoms.

    Ginkgo biloba extract and long-term cognitive decline: a 20-year follow-up population-based study.

In: PLoS One. 2013;8(1):e52755. doi: 10.1371/journal.pone.0052755. Epub 2013 Jan 11

BACKGROUND: Numerous studies have looked at the potential benefits of various nootropic drugs such as Ginkgo biloba extract (EGb761®; Tanakan®) and piracetam (Nootropyl®) on age-related cognitive decline often leading to inconclusive results due to small sample sizes or insufficient follow-up duration. The present study assesses the association between intake of EGb761® and cognitive function of elderly adults over a 20-year period.
METHODS AND FINDINGS: The data were gathered from the prospective community-based cohort study 'Paquid'. Within the study sample of 3612 non-demented participants aged 65 and over at baseline, three groups were compared: 589 subjects reporting use of EGb761® at at least one of the ten assessment visits, 149 subjects reporting use of piracetam at one of the assessment visits and 2874 subjects not reporting use of either EGb761® or piracetam. Decline on MMSE, verbal fluency and visual memory over the 20-year follow-up was analysed with a multivariate mixed linear effects model. A significant difference in MMSE decline over the 20-year follow-up was observed in the EGb761® and piracetam treatment groups compared to the 'neither treatment' group. These effects were in opposite directions: the EGb761® group declined less rapidly than the 'neither treatment' group, whereas the piracetam group declined more rapidly (β = -0.6). Regarding verbal fluency and visual memory, no difference was observed between the EGb761® group and the 'neither treatment' group (respectively, β = 0.21 and β = -0.03), whereas the piracetam group declined more rapidly (respectively, β = -1.40 and β = -0.44). When comparing the EGb761® and piracetam groups directly, a different decline was observed for the three tests (respectively β = -1.07, β = -1.61 and β = -0.41).
CONCLUSION: Cognitive decline in a non-demented elderly population was lower in subjects who reported using EGb761® than in those who did not. This effect may be a specific medication effect of EGb761®, since it was not observed for another nootropic medication, piracetam.

[An Overview of Systematic Reviews of Ginkgo biloba Extracts for Mild Cognitive Impairment and Dementia.

In: Front Aging Neurosci. 2016 Dec 6;8:276. doi: 10.3389/fnagi.2016.00276. eCollection 2016

Ginkgo biloba extracts (GBEs) have been recommended to improve cognitive function and to prevent cognitive decline, but earlier evidence was inconclusive. Here, we evaluated all systematic reviews of GBEs for prevention of cognitive decline, and intervention of mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia. Six databases from their inception to September 2015 were searched. Ten systematic reviews were identified, including reviews about Alzheimer's disease (n = 3), about vascular dementia (n = 1), about both Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia (n = 2), about Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia and mixed dementia (n = 3), and a review about MCI (n = 1). Based on the overview quality assessment questionnaire, eight studies were scored with at least 5 points, while the other two scored 4 points and 3 points, respectively. Medication with GBEs showed improvement in cognition, neuropsychiatric symptoms, and daily activities, and the effect was dose-dependent. Efficacy was convincingly demonstrated only when high daily dose (240 mg) was applied. Compared with placebo, overall adverse events and serious adverse events were at the same level as placebo, with less adverse events in favor of GBE in the subgroup of Alzheimer's disease patients, and fewer incidences in vertigo, tinnitus, angina pectoris, and headache. In conclusion, there is clear evidence to support the efficacy of GBEs for MCI and dementia, whereas the question on efficacy to prevent cognitive decline is still open. In addition, GBEs seem to be generally safe.

[Meta-analysis of the efficacy and safety of Ginkgo biloba extract for the treatment of dementia. In: J Fr Ophtalmol (1988) 11(10):671-4 (Published in French)]

In: J Pharm Health Care Sci. 2015 Apr 10;1:14. doi: 10.1186/s40780-015-0014-7. eCollection 2015.

The benefit of Ginkgo biloba for the treatment of dementia remains controversial. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of Ginkgo biloba in patients with dementia in whom administration effects were reported using meta-analysis.
METHODS: We searched MEDLINE, Embase, the Cochrane databases, and Ichushi for controlled trials of Ginkgo biloba for the treatment dementia. Clinical characteristics and outcomes were extracted. Meta-analysis results were expressed as standard mean differences (SMDs) in scores of the Syndrome Kurztest (SKT), Alzheimer's Disease Assessment Scale Cognitive Subscale (ADAS-Cog) for cognition efficacy, or odds ratios (ORs) for dropouts and adverse drug reactions.
RESULTS: Thirteen studies using the extract EGb761 met our inclusion criteria, which were duration of 12 to 52 weeks and daily dose of more than 120 mg, and included a total of 2381 patients. Meta-analysis was performed by using 9 of 13 studies, 7 of which used the SKT and 2 ADAS-Cog (dose 120 mg, 26 weeks) scores as efficacy parameters. In meta-analysis of all patients, SMDs (95% confidence interval [CI]) in the change in SKT scores (7 studies) were in favor of Ginkgo biloba over placebo (SMD = -0.90 [-1.46, -0.34]), but 2 studies that used ADAS-Cog did not show a statistically significant difference from placebo for ADAS-Cog (-0.06 [-0.41, 0.30]). For Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular dementia (VaD) subgroups, SMDs [95% CI] in SKT in the combined AD and VaD subgroup (-1.07 [-1.66, -0.47]) and AD subgroup (-1.36 [-2.27, -0.46]) were in favor of Ginkgo biloba over placebo. In terms of daily dose of Ginkgo biloba in the combined AD and VaD subgroup, SMD in SKT score in 240-mg daily dose groups was significantly greater than with placebo (-0.71 [-1.28, -0.14]). Dropout rates for any reason did not differ between two groups, but dropout rates due to side effects were significantly lower in Ginkgo biloba groups compared with placebo groups (OR = 1.72 [1.06, 2.80]).
CONCLUSIONS: Taking a 240-mg daily dose of Ginkgo biloba extract is effective and safe in the treatment of dementia.

  • EFFECTIVE PAIN RELIEF STRATEGIES WITH WARRIOR MIST

Fred Liers PhD warrior mist pain relief formulaI am excited this month to talk about Warrior Mist, which is an all-natural skin, muscle, and joint support formula. Warrior Mist is a topical formula that is my go-to-product for pain relief.

Warrior Mist is highly effective for pain. Indeed, my father Dr. Hank Liers formulated it for rapid pain relief, naturally. Many health care professionals find it useful for their clients.

Being applied topically on skin, Warrior Mist acts rapidly at the pain source to stop it. Topical application is an advantage when it comes to fast relief.

Warrior Mist topical pain relief Warrior Mist comes in a spray pump glass bottle.

    WARRIOR MIST – NATURAL INGREDIENTS

Beyond its effectiveness against pain, what I like about Warrior Mist is that it contains all-natural ingredients. What does that mean? Most of its ingredients are herbal like peppermint oil, lavender oil, and organic coconut and olive oils.

Warrior Mist contains: DMSO (99.999% pure), peppermint oil (the source of menthol in the product), organic olive oil, distilled water, MSM, magnesium chloride, lemon oil, lavender oil, and organic coconut oil.

Warrior Mist contains no harsh chemicals or synthetic preservatives (like parabens, dimethicone, or phenoxyethanol). What else would you expect from a formulator like Dr. Hank Liers or a company like Health Products Distributors?

For anyone who cares about NOT putting toxic chemicals on their skin, Warrior Mist is a high-purity formula worthy of consideration. It is a pure, simple, and effective formula.

Warrior Mist comes in a spray bottle made of glass, not plastic. Shake it, then spray it. Gently massage the area of application to assist absorption. That's all there is to it.

    WARRIOR MIST APPLICATIONS FOR PAIN

Warrior Mist is effective for many applications, including pain relief for joints (wrists, elbows, knees, ankles), bruises and scratches, as well as insect bites and skin irritations. I occasionally I spray it directly into my mouth for throat relief, especially in winter or during allergy season (although actually we do not recommend it for internal use).

    AIKIDO

I practice aikido, which can stress joints, especially wrists. Most aikido techniques involve grips that can become throws. There are also strikes, counterstrikes, blocks, falls, rolls, wrist breaks (escapes), and other movements.

Aikido is safe when practiced carefully. Yet, many techniques can lead to bumps, bruises, strains, sprains, and soreness. Warrior Mist helps me (and others) a lot. In fact, I donated a bottle of Warrior Mist to the dojo, so it's there for anyone who needs it.

I am not sure what I would do for routine aches and pains without Warrior Mist. Sometimes just having relief after an aikido workout makes a big difference in my day.

My eight-year-old son also practices aikido in the same dojo. I feel confident using Warrior Mist on him because it is a safe, natural product that works.

I also practice yoga. Yoga rarely results in the types of minor injuries I experience from aikido. Yet, for times when I overstretch a muscle or overdo a pose, I reach for Warrior Mist for rapid relief.

    HIKING

I enjoy hiking. We live on the edge of a desert wilderness north of Tucson, Arizona. There are cactus, thick brush, thorny bushes, and biting insects like ants and scorpions. Many hikes involve at least a few thorns, scrapes, or mild soreness. Warrior Mist helps with these.

I have used Warrior Mist for bee and scorpion stings, ant bites, scrapes, cuts, small puncture wounds (e.g., from cactus spines), as well as skin irritations of various kinds.

In fact, there are few types of pain I have found Warrior Mist doesn't mitigate. I use it for shoulder pain, neck pain, and lower back pain when it occurs. I notice the sooner I get Warrior Mist on the affected area, the faster I experience relief.

I don't personally suffer from headaches, but friends who do tell me Warrior Mist helps them a lot. One of the ingredients is magnesium chloride, which is known to help ease headaches, including migraine headaches. Gently rub Warrior Mist around temples, forehead, or base of the neck.

Pain relief is not always immediate when using Warrior Mist. Yet, I know from experience how much it helps. The ingredients it contains support healing, too. Be patient, give it time, and allow it to work. That is exactly what I do sometimes.

    AROUND HOUSE, YARD, AND GARDEN

Warrior Mist is ideal to keep in the house for everyday bumps and bruises like stubbed toes, bruised shins, or skinned knees. We find it useful after yardwork or gardening. You can spray it directly on an area, or else spray it into your hand first (after shaking the bottle), and then rub it into an affected area.

I know of two people who use Warrior Mist for pain in the tailbone (coccyx), the final segment of the vertebral column. Tailbone pain for them was originally caused by falling. One person fell from a horse and the other off a skateboard. While these injuries are structural, Warrior Mist provides significant relief. The reduction in pain helps daily function and facilitates sleep.

    WARRIOR MIST FOR PETS

Warrior Mist is safe for use with pets. In fact, it was originally formulated for pets with the help of a veterinarian. You can feel confident using Warrior Mist on pets, large and small. It is ideal for use on dogs, cats, horses, and farm animals. Many veterinarians use Warrior Mist in their clinics.

If you are a veterinarian, consider using Warrior Mist for your pet patients.

    PROFESSIONAL USES

My wife Stefanie is a practicing acupuncturist. She uses and recommends Warrior Mist for her clients.

She frequently uses Warrior Mist in her practice for knee pain, shoulder pain, and back pain. What she often does is mix about five sprays (pumps) of Warrior Mist with about ten sprays of Magnesium Oil along with a dime-sized amount of carrier oil (like organic jojoba oil or coconut oil) in her palm.

She mixes the liquids in her palm (for amounts up to one tablespoon), but it can be mixed and stored a small container. For greater amounts, the ratios remain the same – about 2:1 Magnesium Oil to Warrior Mist – with correspondingly higher amounts of carrier oil. This is an excellent mixture because it combines the benefits of Warrior Mist and Magnesium Oil.

There is a slight chemical reaction that occurs when Warrior Mist mixes with Magnesium Oil. It is actually a warming effect. Stefanie likes it because the mixture is then applied warm, which relaxes muscles and opens pores for better absorption. No "warm up" is necessary and clients seem to appreciate the mixture's warmth.

The mixture (of Warrior Mist, Magnesium Oil, and carrier oil) may be applied directly on affected areas with high rates of success. Clients themselves can obtain Warrior Mist and Magnesium Oil to make this mixture at home. Using a carrier oil is helpful, but not required because Warrior Mist contains organic coconut and olive oils.

Warrior Mist Magnesium oil bottles Warrior Mist works well mixed with Ancient Minerals magnesium oil.

Stefanie also finds Warrior Mist useful for clients suffering from headaches. In addition, she will apply straight Warrior Mist to the throat, lymph nodes, or upper chest area for clients dealing with respiratory issues. Indeed, she applies it to these areas on herself when she feels she may be fighting or coming down with something.

Use Warrior Mist on clean, dry, lotion-free skin. The DMSO in the formula acts as a solvent carrying substances on skin into the body. This allows natural ingredients in the formula to penetrate into painful areas. Wash hands and the application area (or wipe with a damp cloth) before treatment. Avoid using carrier oils with toxic ingredients (like synthetic preservatives) that could be pulled into the body.

Stefanie likes to tells her clients not to put anything on their skin that they would not eat. That is, use only natural oils and products containing ingredients that are natural and organic. A useful resource to determine what products are most natural is the Skin Deep Database on the Environmental Working Group website (www.ewg.org).

If you are a health care professional who deals with clients requiring pain relief, please contact HPDI to request a sample bottle of Warrior Mist. See how effective this topical pain formula is for yourself and your clients.

Warrior_Mist_Usage Wash hands, shake bottle, then spray on clean, dry skin. Massage area to assist absorption.

WARRIOR MIST FOR ATHLETES AND SPORTS

One group of people who love Warrior Mist is athletes, especially runners, triathletes, and other endurance athletes. Warrior Mist is useful for nearly all sports, including contact sports.

HPDI's sponsored athlete, pro cyclist Irena Ossola, uses Warrior Mist regularly, especially during races and high-intensity training. She incorporates it into the sports massage she receives with reportedly good effects. She also states that it helps her with recovery.

Irena occasionally crashes her bicycle. This remains a hazard in her sport, she says. However, Warrior Mist has done much to help her joints, road rash and other abrasions, sore muscles, and to speed her recovery.

For purposes of athletes, the magnesium chloride in Warrior Mist can help support muscle health and recovery, as well as provide pain relief.

    WARRIOR MIST SUMMARY

Dr. Hank Liers designed Warrior Mist as a unique, natural pain formula containing ingredients known for their effectiveness. Given its wide applicability, topical application, natural ingredients, and effective history of use, Warrior Mist is ideal for use in clinical settings and for clients who require relief from pain.

Warrior Mist is one of the most effective natural pain relief products available to heath care professionals and consumers alike.

Warrior Mist comes in a 30 ml (1 oz) spray bottle which provides hundreds of applications. A single bottle typically lasts about two months.

Directions: Shake bottle before applying. Wash hands before and after use. Apply in a thin layer to a clean, dry, and lotion-free area needing support. Shave thick hair that may prevent absorption by the skin. Gently massage the area of application to assist absorption. Re-apply as needed 3–4 times daily. (Contains DMSO, a known solvent.)

BEYOND WARRIOR MIST: WARRIOR SLEEP & WARRIOR ENERGY

Warrior Mist is one of three Warrior Health products offered by Health Products Distributors. Dr. Hank Liers formulated these Warrior products, all of which are topicals requiring ultra-low doses (ULD) by design: Warrior Mist, Warrior Sleep, and Warrior Energy.

Warrior Mist Warrior Sleep Warrior Roll-On Energy Warrior Mist, Warrior Sleep, and Warrior Roll-On Energy are topical formulas.

Warrior Sleep (9 ml) is an effective, natural sleep and relaxation formula having no drug-like side effects (compared to conventional sleep aids). Like Warrior Mist, you apply Warrior Sleep directly to skin (transdermal application) for rapid absorption. Warrior Sleep incorporates four natural ingredients for sleep: lavender oil, roman chamomile, magnesium, and melatonin. It uses DMSO and natural oils to carry these rest promoters into the body. Warrior Sleep contains: DMSO (99.999% pure), olive oil, distilled water, MSM, magnesium oil, lavender oil, lecithin, roman chamomile oil, coconut oil, and melatonin.

Warrior Sleep Warrior Sleep is an effective topical relaxation and sleep formula.

Warrior Roll-On Energy (9 ml) is a unique topical roll-on energy product. It is formulated to provide five hours of mental and physical enhancement. One bottle will last 30 days when used twice daily. Warrior Roll-On Energy contains: DMSO (99.999% pure), organic aloe vera gel (inner fillet), distilled water, organic extra virgin olive oil, peppermint oil, magnesium chloride with trace ocean minerals, MSM, organic coconut oil, caffeine (80% from green tea), soy lecithin (high phosphatide and 98% oil free), glutathione (reduced), Vitamin B6 (from pyridoxal-5’-phosphate), Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin), and Folinic Acid (from calcium folinate).

Warrior Roll-On Energy Warrior Sleep and Warrior Roll-On Energy contain built-in roll-on applicators.

I use all three Warrior products depending on daily needs. Warrior Sleep is an effective sleep aid, but is also effective for relaxation or applied before bedtime to prepare for sleep. I apply to the neck base, upper throat, and temples. We have noticed it nourishes and smooths facial skin. This is due to its synergistic blend of ingredients, including melatonin, MSM, and organic carriers oils.

Warrior Roll-On Energy is uniquely energizing. It differs dramatically from most energy products, or coffee, tea, or chocolate. The formula utilizes ultra-low dose (ULD) technology to carry energizing ingredients (including caffeine from green tea) rapidly into the body. Yet, unlike caffeinated drinks, users typically experience no let down or rapid drop in energy after using it. Warrior Roll-On Energy provides non-jarring, sustained energy during the day (up to six hours).

Health Care Professionals: Please contact HPDI (1-800-228-4265) to request sample(s) of Warrior Mist, Warrior Sleep, Warrior Roll-On Energy, or other products in which you are interested.
